Welcome to a2ashes, a LJ community for the BBC's Ashes to Ashes.

Ashes to Ashes is a spin-off from the acclaimed BBC series Life on Mars, and began filming in 2007. Season 2 begins airing on Monday 20th April, 2009 at 9pm Mondays on BBC1. It's now 1982...and Alex is as unsure as ever about why she is stuck in the 80s. This season will bring us births, deaths and marriages...but whose??

It stars Philip Glenister, who has stepped back into the shoes of DCI Gene Hunt, only this time, the Gene Genie is on the loose in the eighties! He is joined once again by DS Ray Carling (Dean Andrews) and DC Chris Skelton (Marshall Lancaster). Not only does he have to cope with soft Southerners down in London, and it being the 1980s, but he also finds he has a new *female* DI - Alex Drake (Keeley Hawes) and a new 'plonk' WPC Shaz Granger (Montserrat Lombard).

This community welcomes analysis, thoughts, speculation, fanfiction, theories, screengrabs, icons, wallpapers and just about anything else Ashes to Ashes related! Just remember to play nicely - we're all here to have fun! And please bear in mind that there are younger users on here too. If you feel something you wish to post may be adult in nature, why not flag your own journal as containing adult material and link back to it from here?

If your post is purely to do with Life on Mars, rather than Ashes to Ashes, then head on over to lifein1973 which is for all things LoM!

Community Rules

Please use a LJ-cut for the following or risk the mods stamping on your toys!:

Large images or batches of icons/photos.

Spoilers for unaired and newly-aired episodes (remember not everyone gets to see the show the same time as you do). THIS INCLUDES ICONS! Please DO NOT use spoilery icons on or in your posts! Newly-aired means AT LEAST A WEEK must pass before spoilerish stuff goes un-cut. But people in far-away lands will probably thank you for leaving it longer than that.

If you post fic, everyone would be most grateful if you could include your title, pairing, age-rating and a short summary on the comm., before either the cut to your fic or a link back to it. If your fic is adults only, then it would be better to link back to it in your own journal.

Please, PLEASE, try to tag your entries. This goes double for fic, as people WILL try to find your fic again. Use all tags you think might apply, but particularly the 'fic' and character tags. :)

If you have any questions or problems please contact one of the community maintainers and we'll endeavour to sort things out for you.
